Memorial Service Set for Clothier and Philanthropist Ruth L. Bregman

A special memorial service for Ruth L. Bregman, who created and ran Bregman & Associates clothing company, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Merchandise Mart in downtown Los Angeles.
Bregman, 78, died Feb. 7 in her West Hollywood home of a heart attack, said her apartment building manager, Shirley Roberts. Funeral services were Wednesday.
Bregman was a fixture in the Los Angeles fashion industry for 37 years. She was also a major fund-raiser for medical institutions, particularly Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the City of Hope.
Her surviving sister and brother, Naomi Berman and Irving Pondroff, and their children have asked that memorial donations be made to the Ruth L. Bregman Special Children’s Fund, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Box 48750, Los Angeles, CA 90048-0750.
