Suit Over Subleased Site Goes Forward
Attorneys for a private elementary school, the Waldorf School, are proceeding with their lawsuit against the Newport-Mesa Unified School District because the two have been unable to agree on a site to house Waldorf’s programs.
Waldorf has subleased Newport-Mesa’s Eastbluff Elementary School from Coast Community College District since 1993.
The lease expires in June 1999, but Newport-Mesa officials told Waldorf administrators in October that they would have to vacate by June 1998 because the district plans to reopen Eastbluff as a public school in the fall of this year.
