L.A. Paramedics
I want publicly to thank the L.A. Fire Department for assistance with a recent medical emergency in our home. It is hard to know which fire station responded to our call from the Larchmont area, but within five minutes seven capable, calming and thoughtful paramedics were helping my family through a worrisome crisis--competently and with human concern.
Often we don’t know where to turn when there is bad news, but our 911 system this time proved to be the place; it reflected a basic principle of human concern within our political bureaucracy. It is reassuring to know that we can turn there again.
