Trepagnier Doesn’t Jiggle

Some good-natured trash talking was exchanged between Oregon State star Corey Benjamin and USC freshman Jeff Trepagnier during the Beavers’ 83-74 overtime victory Thursday night.
Benjamin had 33 points and nine rebounds, though Trepagnier slowed him a bit late in the game.
“After he made this little jiggle move and knocked down his shot, he told me ‘Let me school the freshman,’ ” Trepagnier said.
Trepagnier, who played only four minutes in the first half but had 11 points and four rebounds in 18 second-half minutes, helped hold Benjamin to 0-for-eight shooting from three-point range and even blocked a shot.
“I told him he was good but to get that [shot] out of here,” Trepagnier said.

Update--USC hopes to catch Oregon when the Ducks might still be swooning over Thursday’s upset of UCLA. If not, the Trojans, who are last in the Pac-10 in defending against three-pointers, will play an Oregon team that scorched the Bruins from three-point range. Terik Brown had 22 points and made five of his 10 three-pointers. The Trojans defeated Oregon last month, 63-59.
