SUNLAND — The body of a homicide victim was discovered in a burning car Friday by Los Angeles city firefighters.
“The body was pretty badly burned,” said LAPD spokesman Mike Partain. Police believe the fire may have been set to destroy evidence of the killing.
Firefighters found the body after putting out a fire in a two-door 1989 Acura Integra in the 10800 block of Roscoe Boulevard near the Golden State Freeway.
Coroner’s officials were unable to identify the body Friday and plan to conduct an autopsy Monday.
The death is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department’s robbery-homicide unit.
