Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 84, Long Beach State 74--The Mustangs tuned up from long range and from the free-throw line, outscoring the 49ers, 18-10, over the last four minutes before 2,872 at San Luis Obispo.
Cal Poly’s Mike Wozniak led all scorers with 31 points, making six of 10 from three-point range. Freshman David Egans made five of seven three-point baskets and had 25 points for Long Beach State (8-13, 3-6 Big West).
Long Beach State trailed, 66-64, with 3:57 to play. From there, Cal Poly (10-11, 2-6) got two three-point shots from Ross Ketcham and four free throws by Wozniak and three by Jabbar Washington to finish off Long Beach State, which is 0-7 on the road.
