Jorgensen Posts 3rd-Quarter Net Income of $4.3 Million

BREA — Metal distributor Earle M. Jorgensen Co. reported net income of $4.3 million for the third quarter of fiscal 1998, compared with a net loss of $4.8 million for the prior-year period. Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 was up 2% to $256 million from $250.7 million. Nine-month net income reached a record $16.1 million, compared with a net loss of $1.2 million for the like period a year earlier. Revenue advanced 3% to $775.5 million from $756.1 million.
