Balloonists Allowed to Cross Mainland

China agreed to allow British entrepreneur Richard Branson, American Steve Fossett and their co-pilot to continue crossing its territory in their round-the-world hot-air balloon expedition. The decision--granted on condition that the balloon leave Chinese airspace as soon as possible-- allowed the balloonists to continue toward South Korea and Japan. They were expected to leave China early today.
