PerfectData Reports Loss for First Quarter

PerfectData Corp. in Simi Valley reported a loss of $72,000 for the first quarter ended June 30, compared with a $1,000 gain a year earlier.
The results for the quarter were moderately better than expected, officials said. Additional cost-cutting measures have been taken, and officials said the company is seeking opportunities to broaden product lines, expand channels of distribution and offer Internet-related business services.
Also, PerfectData is continuing discussions with several entities about the possibility of a merger, alliance, joint venture or other type of business combination.
PerfectData designs computer, office care and maintenance products and accessories.
