Fabian Leads South Mission Viejo to Final Round
Gavin Fabian hit a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning, helping South Mission Viejo to a 3-1 victory over Surrey, B.C., Friday in the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Mich.
Fabian’s single scored Adam Sorgi and Chad Lucas to break a 1-1 tie.
The victory advances South Mission Viejo to the championship round of the double-elimination tournament. South Mission Viejo must defeat Midway League of Waco, Texas, twice today for the title. Midway defeated South Mission Viejo, 3-0, in the first round.
Earlier Friday, in a rematch of last year’s Little League World Series final, South Mission Viejo defeated Linda Vista of Guadalupe, Mexico, 5-0.
