Boy, 12, Injured in Traffic Accident
A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured Thursday morning after being hit by a car while crossing the middle of the street in heavy traffic, police said.
The boy, whose name has not been released, was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, Sgt. Joe Vargas said.
The boy was near his home on the 1100 block of South State College Boulevard just before 8 a.m. when he began to cross the street, which was clogged with cars, Vargas said.
A 1990 Eagle Summit traveling along the west curve of State College struck the boy. The 12-year-old suffered injuries to his leg and head, said Vargas.
The accident is under investigation.
