Police said Friday that they are investigating the death of a man found at his Placentia home with puncture wounds.
Jack Jessee, 56, was discovered at his home in the 400 block of Choctaw Place by his daughter at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Police Det. Corinne Loomis said.
When paramedics arrived, Jessee was not breathing, Loomis said. He was transported to Placentia Linda Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Loomis said the case is being investigated as a homicide.
The sight of police and emergency vehicles in the quiet neighborhood shocked residents.
“We have had other people die around here, but no one that required yellow [police] tape,” said Michelle Tate, who lives down the street.
After being questioned by police officers seeking clues and more information, Tate said, she is worried about the safety of her three children.
“We sometimes leave a door open at night,” she said, “but I think we are going to lock it now and pay for the electricity” to run the air-conditioning.
