Vigilantes Are Out for Blood--Donors, That Is
- Share via
In response to recent blood shortages, the Vigilantes minor league baseball team is stepping up to the plate by hosting a blood drive at Sunday’s home game against the Oregon Bandits.
Teaming up with the Vigilantes, the Orange County Red Cross will be accepting donations from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Vigilantes’ home field.
Blood donors will receive a free T-shirt and free admission to the next Vigilante home game.
Red Cross officials said they are especially in need of type O blood. About half of the county’s population has O blood.
“Blood shortages are a critical issue that affect the whole community,” said Mark Schwartz, vice president of sales and marketing for the Vigilantes.
Donors must be at least 17, at least 110 pounds and in good health.
The Vigilantes’ home field is at Saddleback College, 28000 Marguerite Parkway, in Mission Viejo.
