Agency to Hear Worker Complaints

Representatives of the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will be in Oxnard on Monday to answer questions about laws designed to shield workers from discrimination.
The EEOC, which is authorized to investigate complaints of discrimination based on age, race, religion and national origin, will host a public information session at 1 p.m. at the office of California Rural Legal Assistance, 445 South B St.
The commission can investigate complaints against private and public employers, and certain other entities with at least 15 employees, if discrimination occurred within the last 300 days.
Anyone who believes they have been discriminated against or who has questions about the agency is encouraged to attend the information meeting.
