Firebombs Hurled at Border Patrol Agent
A U.S. Border Patrol agent was the target of Molotov cocktails thrown from the Mexican side of the border, but he was not hurt, authorities said. No one has been arrested in the Tuesday night attack, the Border Patrol said Wednesday. The agent was driving along a border road about 75 miles east of San Diego when he noticed an upside-down pail on the road. When he stopped to examine the pail, he spotted a man standing on the other side of the border fence. The man threw a flammable container that bounced off the hood of the agent’s truck and exploded after hitting the ground, the Border Patrol said.
