Project Closes Chapman Onramp
The westbound Chapman Avenue onramp to the northbound Orange Freeway will close today for nine months for construction.
Crews will be widening the Orange Freeway between the Garden Grove Freeway and Orangewood Avenue. Transportation officials said the improvements will relieve congestion and improve traffic flow for motorists traveling from the Garden Grove Freeway to the northbound Orange Freeway.
The project is part of the $1.1-billion improvement of the Santa Ana Freeway, which began in December 1996.
To get around the closure, motorists may go north on Main Street and turn left at Orangewood to the northbound Orange Freeway onramp.
