Charter Panel to Discuss Draft Recommendations

The appointed City Charter Reform Commission meets today at 1 p.m. to discuss its draft recommendations for changes to the city’s charter. The commission is scheduled to approve the draft and open up discussion of the plan for public comment.
The meeting will be held in the 15th floor boardroom of the Department of Water and Power building at 111 North Hope St. in downtown Los Angeles.
The appointed commission, as well as an elected charter reform commission, are preparing proposed changes for the city charter. The appointed commission’s revised charter will eventually be forwarded to the City Council, which has the power to decide to place it on the ballot.
