ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

PIA Merchandising Services Inc.: The Irvine supplier of merchandising services reported net income of $76,000, or 1 cent a share, for the second quarter, contrasted with a net loss of $1.9 million, or 35 cents a share, for the second quarter of 1997. Revenue was up 7% to $33.9 million from $31.6 million. A net loss of $947,000, or 18 cents a share, was recorded for the first half, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $3.1 million, or 54 cents a share. Revenue increased 13% to $68.7 million from $61 million.
