Yacht Club Moves to Larger Quarters

The Dana Point Yacht Club is celebrating new, larger headquarters.
The 46-year-old institution’s membership rolls have been limited for years to 400 but the new headquarters in the former Michael’s Restaurant, at 24399 Dana Drive, should allow for growth. The club boasts the largest number of entrants each year in the Newport to Ensenada Race, the largest international ocean race.
“This move to our new clubhouse required hundreds of volunteer hours to bring our new facilities up to [club] standards,” said Jim Perkins, club commodore. “We owe a debt of gratitude to everyone donating their time and supplies for this effort.”
Members and their families are invited to a ceremony Sunday at 2 p.m.
