* AMP Inc., maker of electrical connection devices, said its board will review AlliedSignal Inc.’s unsolicited $9.8-billion takeover bid, as AlliedSignal formally began its tender offer. AlliedSignal said last week it would launch the $44.50-a-share offer after AMP repeatedly ignored efforts to discuss a friendly combination.

* Sara Lee Corp. agreed to buy Quaker Oats Co.’s Continental Coffee unit, which has about $150 million in annual sales, as part of its effort to sell more coffee and tea to restaurants, shopping club stores and other food service accounts. Terms weren’t disclosed.
