Dodger right-hander Chan Ho Park hung his head sheepishly over his baserunning mistake in the sixth inning Sunday, which resulted from his lack of knowledge of the rules.
But he was able to shrug off his lost opportunity to tie Orel Hershiser’s Los Angeles Dodger record of 12 consecutive victories at home.
“I’m not disappointed,” Park said. “I’m just starting out. I have more and more time in the future. Maybe, I will do it again.”
Since July 10 of last season, Park had gone 11-0 with a 3.08 ERA in 17 starts. This season, he was 6-0 with a 2.19 ERA at Dodger Stadium.
Hershiser’s streak of 12 in a row was recorded from Sept. 30, 1984 to Oct. 2, 1985.
“I feel like I have more confidence pitching here,” Park said.
“I feel like this is home.”

Second baseman Eric Young, whose speed has enabled him to lead the team in stolen bases with 34, had gone 342 at-bats without grounding into a double play until he did so Friday night.
Sunday, Young did it again, this streak lasting only eight at-bats.

Raul Mondesi has only one hit in eight at-bats since returning from a back injury, having struck out six times.
But, in this case, the good news far outweighed the bad because, after playing in two games after his return, he reports that his back is nearly pain free.
“Before,” he said, “I couldn’t get up in the morning because I was in a lot of pain. Now, I feel it just a little bit, but with the off day [today], when I come back Tuesday, I should be 100%.”
