The Houston Astros purchased the contract of outfielder Pete Incaviglia from triple-A New Orleans of the Pacific Coast League and demoted left-handed pitcher C.J. Nitkowski to New Orleans.

J.D. Drew, the St. Louis Cardinals’ top draft pick, is headed to Triple-A Memphis. The Pacific Coast League team said that Drew has been promoted from Double-A Arkansas of the Texas League. He batted .328 with five home runs and 11 RBIs in 19 games.
