* “School Board Fires Environmental Official but Orders Safety Probe” (July 29) failed to indicate that there was a 4-3 vote and instead left the impression that it was unanimous to dismiss Hamid Arabzadeh as director of Environmental Health and Safety. Barbara Boudreaux, Julie Korenstein and I felt for various reasons that Arabzadeh should not be dismissed.
The allegations that Arabzadeh has made about the environmental health and safety of the children of LAUSD are quite serious and must be investigated immediately. I fully expect that all seven board members will expect nothing less than a detailed, public response from the superintendent.
