Stamp to Help Fund Breast Cancer Fight

A new first-class postage stamp issued to raise money for breast cancer research will give everyday people a chance to “fund the fight,” Sen. Lauch Faircloth said in the Republican Party’s weekly radio address. Issued this month, the stamp costs 40 cents--8 cents above the current 32-cent price. The extra money will fund research into a cure for the disease, which is expected to claim the lives of 44,000 women this year, the North Carolina Republican said. Faircloth, who is up for reelection in November, was a co-sponsor of legislation to issue the stamp.
