Tigers Finally Sign Weaver

Pitcher Jeff Weaver finally is a pro.
Weaver, from Simi Valley High and Fresno State, signed Friday with the Detroit Tigers, who picked him in the first round of the June draft.
The right-hander had a 33-15 record and was a three-time All-Western Athletic Conference selection at Fresno.
Weaver was assigned to Jamestown of the New York-Penn rookie league.
