Master Chorale Sets 4-Show Season

Paul McCartney’s “Standing Stone,” a symphonic poem with chorale composed in 1997, will open the William Hall Master Chorale’s 1998-99 season July 18 at 8 p.m. at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. The date will be the Southern California premiere of the work. The former Beatle is not expected to attend.
The season will continue at the center Oct. 4 with Verdi’s Requiem and Dec. 5 with a holiday program. Both concerts will be at 8 p.m. The season will conclude April 11 at 3 p.m. with Bach’s “Passion According to St. John” at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach.
