The Simi Valley Boys & Girls Club is accepting applications for its 1998 Summer Junior Leader Program.
Open to teens ages 14 to 17, the program teaches participants what it’s like to have a job.
Each participant must work at least 15 hours each week, wear a Junior Leader T-shirt, follow a schedule and keep a time card.
In weekly meetings, Junior Leader program participants will learn how to apply for a job, how to conduct a successful interview and listen to guest speakers from such agencies as Youth Employment Services.
Junior Leaders will also visit a number of nonprofit agencies and private businesses, as well as other Boys & Girls Clubs in Ventura County.
Upon completion of the program, participants will be rewarded with trips to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor and an end-of-the-summer party at the club.
Program orientations begin June 12.
