A 58-year-old Santa Ana man was in custody Monday on suspicion of attempted murder and child injury after a violent rampage at the home of his ex-wife, police said.
Tilford Trinidad Ramirez was being held at the Orange County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail after his arrest Sunday outside his ex-wife’s condominium in the 17500 block of Vandenberg Lane, Tustin Police Lt. Michael Shanahan said.
Ramirez was a dinner guest at his ex-wife’s home when an argument turned violent and he allegedly used a blunt object to repeatedly hit the 48-year-old woman, who was treated at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana for face and head injuries, Shanahan said.
The suspect allegedly attacked the victim’s 24-year-old daughter when she intervened. Police said the suspect also threw her 14-month-old granddaughter onto a coffee table, leaving both with minor injuries, Shanahan said.
