Regarding Natalie Nichols’ review of Scott Weiland’s “12 Bar Blues” (Record Rack, March 29):
Comparing Weiland to Polly Jean Harvey is akin to comparing Vanilla Ice to Public Enemy. Stone Temple Pilots and Weiland’s cult of personality has been alt-rock’s thinnest pleasure. Harvey has been one of rock’s greatest geniuses.
Anyone with the slightest knowledge of musical history (and I am 17) would know not to make a mistake like this one.
