Motivation Program Taking Youths to Football Game
Foothill Transit will take more than 100 students from the San Gabriel Valley to the UCLA football game at the Rose Bowl today as part of a program to encourage at-risk children to attend college.
The tickets for the UCLA vs. Arizona football game were donated to Foothill Transit through UCLA’s “I’m Going to College” program, transit officials said.
“We are pleased to be able to partner with UCLA to provide these students with the opportunity to hear from college students and alumni,” said Foothill Executive Director Julie Austin.
At the stadium, students will hear from mentors and college students on the importance of a college education.
