Five-Year Treasury Yields at 10-Month Low

Yields on five-year Treasury notes fell in auction to the lowest level in 10 months. The high yield was 5.960%, down from 6.253% at the last auction Aug. 27. It was the lowest rate since five-year notes sold for 5.950% on Nov. 20. The notes will carry a coupon interest rate of 5%, with each $10,000 in face value selling for $9,963.70. $12.8 billion in notes were sold out of bids totaling $35.4 billion.
