Rep. Sherman Plans Constituent Meetings
Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks) plans several meetings with constituents this month.
The first is a town hall-style gathering to be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium of the Women’s Pavilion at the Encino/Tarzana Regional Medical Center, 18321 Clark St.
On Sunday, another meeting is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Pomelo Drive Elementary School, 7633 March Ave., West Hills.
A third town hall session is planned from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Arthur E. Wright Middle School, 4029 Las Virgenes Road in Calabasas.
Sherman also will answer constituents’ questions during what his staff calls “neighborhood office hours†at two local malls.
“We wanted to be really accessible to people,†said Mara Slavin, Sherman’s communications director, of the congressman’s decision to meet voters at the mall, a first for him.
“If they aren’t able to make it to a town hall meeting, we wanted to go where they are, especially on the weekends,†she said.
Sherman will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Encino Towne Center, 17200 Ventura Blvd. (at the main entrance near Rubio’s restaurant), and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at Topanga Plaza, 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd. in Canoga Park, on the lower level in front of Robinsons-May.
