OUTLOOK
Calvary Chapel already has one game under its belt, having beaten Wailuku King Kekaulike, 34-20, Aug. 29. Short ran for three touchdowns in that game and Murrieta passed for 107 yards. Because of the early start, Calvary Chapel began practice a week earlier than most other teams and will have three weeks off between its first and second games. The Eagles are hoping to bounce back from a winless 1996 season, and they should given they have more experience at the quarterback and wide receiver positions. Calvary Chapel also added a weight room this year, which should help to improve the team’s size and strength. With only 23 players on the varsity roster, depth and stamina for the two-way players could determine how far the Eagles fly.
