Deal Would Provide Site for YMCA Center

Anaheim Hills residents will get their own community center if the City Council today approves an agreement with Anaheim Memorial Medical Center for use of space at its office building.
The center’s staff has negotiated a lease at no cost to the city for use of the community meeting room at Anaheim Memorial Medical Plaza at Weir Canyon and Santa Ana Canyon roads.
Under the agreement, the city would make some minor modifications to the facility, spending about $10,000. The city then would sublease the room to Orange YMCA, which would use it to offer programs and services.
City staff members said the proposed arrangement with the medical center would ensure that the YMCA services continue in the hills area until a permanent arrangement is found for a community center.
The council will meet at 5 p.m. in chambers, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd. Information: (714) 254-5166.
