Music Center Seeks Scholarship Entries

Applications will be accepted through Oct. 10 for the 10th annual Music Center Spotlight Awards competition, which grants scholarships to budding performing artists.
Entries will be accepted in the categories of ballet, jazz-modern dance, classical voice, musical theater-pop voice, classical instrumental music and jazz instrumental music.
A separate category for visual artists, who must submit a poster, has a later application deadline of Dec. 10.
Applicants must be in the 9th through 12th grades and Southern California residents.
Finalists will perform March 24 in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion; winners in each category will receive $5,000, with runners-up getting $2,500 each.
There is a $10 application fee.
