Occidental Can’t Keep Up With Cal Lutheran, 59-35

Cal Lutheran piled up 575 yards in a 59-35 victory over Occidental on Saturday night in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football game at Eagle Rock.
Zack Hernandez completed 21 of 27 passes for 308 yards and tied a school record with five touchdown passes.
Hernandez, making a spectacular return after missing last week’s game against Whittier because of a concussion, rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown.
Tim Kirksey caught eight passes for 143 yards and four touchdowns, establishing a school record for touchdown catches in a game and tying Hank Bauer for most touchdowns in a game.
Billy Busch rushed for 100 yards in 10 carries.
The teams combined for 1,045 yards and combined for 46 points in the fourth quarter.
The 94 points for both teams were the second-most ever in a Cal Lutheran game. The Kingsmen (4-3, 3-1 in conference play) and Menlo combined for 100 last season.
