Poly 27, North Hollywood 16--The host Parrots (1-6, 1-3) converted three of five North Hollywood turnovers into touchdowns to notch their first win of the season.
On its first possession, Poly drove 90 yards in 11 plays and scored on a one-yard run by Albert Diaz. Diaz had 106 yards in 32 carries and scored two touchdowns.
Husky running back Oscar Mendoza, who had 87 yards in 20 carries, scored on an eight-yard run late in the third quarter to close within, 21-16. But the Poly defense held and Parrot running back David Valencia secured the victory on a 20-yard touchdown run with 1:39 left.
