Brea Olinda’s Webster Makes His Point in 14-0 Victory

BREA — Rasuli Webster has made a habit of frustrating opposing teams all season.
For the third time this year, he scored a touchdown on defense to help lead host Brea Olinda to a 14-0 victory over Valencia in Orange League football action Friday night.
Webster returned a fumble 33 yards with 9 minutes 28 seconds left in the first quarter to give the Wildcats a quick 7-0 lead.
It was the second time this season he has scored off a fumble. He also has an interception return for a touchdown.
Brea (6-1, 2-0 in league) increased its lead to 14-0 with 6:37 left in the first quarter when Travis Blood connected on a 46-yard touchdown pass to Matt Winkler.
The game then became a defensive struggle with the Wildcats intercepting four passes to help preserve the shutout.
Geno Rose intercepted a pass in the end zone and returned it to the 23 to stop the first Valencia scoring threat in the first quarter.
Valencia (1-5-1, 0-2) threatened in the second quarter but an interception by Chris Shoemaker halted a 12-play, 60-yard drive.
Eric Albrecht and Rose intercepted passes in the fourth quarter.
Dan Maurin of Valencia led all rushers with 120 yards in 17 carries; Scott Lieng picked up 40 yards in 14 carries to pace the Brea running attack.
Jason Annis of Valencia completed eight of 34 passes for 103 yards; Blood hit four of 10 for 89 yards.
