Fall Homecoming to Be Saturday at Key Ranch

Reminiscent of days past, the annual fall homecoming will be held Saturday at the historic George Key Ranch.

The event will feature music going back to the days when families and communities gathered at the ranch homestead to celebrate the end of harvest.

There also will be historical exhibits and a program for children at noon on Native American lifestyle and crafts.

Key was one of Placentia’s pioneers and an original grower for Sunkist oranges. He bought the 20-acre citrus ranch in 1893 and built the house in 1898. Homecoming admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children 12 years old or younger. Proceeds help the county parks department maintain the ranch and pay for improvements. The ranch is at 625 W. Bastanchury Road, near Placentia Avenue. Free parking will be available at Sierra Vista School. Information: (714) 528-4260.
