U.S. Funds Available for Service Agencies
The Orange County Emergency Food and Shelter Board announced this week the availability of funds for agencies that assist the needy and homeless.
Funds are available from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state Emergency Housing and Assistance Program.
Agencies interested in applying for the FEMA funds must do so by Oct. 27.
The state housing program is also offering financial assistance--up to $92,000--intended for use by emergency shelter providers in Orange County.
Interested agencies must apply through the Orange County Red Cross by Dec. 1.
The food and shelter board will select the agencies that will receive the funds.
