Free sandbags are available to residents preparing for potentially heavy rains. The bags, as many as 10 per household, are available at four locations.
Residents must fill their own bags and are advised to bring a shovel. Proof of residency may be required.
Sandbags are available by appointment Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Municipal Service Center, 13802 Newhope St.
The bags are also available from three fire stations: Station No. 2 at 11805 Gilbert St., Station No. 3 at 12132 Trask Ave. and Station No. 4 at 12191 Valley View St. The fire stations are open 24 hours a day and firefighters will help carry the bags.
Disabled and homebound residents can have filled bags delivered by the city.
