‘Three Rs’ Plan
Regarding the Santa Ana school board’s decision to de-emphasize instruction in science, social science, physical education and fine arts (“Santa Ana School Board Gives Tentative OK to ‘Three Rs’ Plan,†Sept. 24), I thought maybe I could save us all some time:
When the truancy rate goes up, when students lose all interest in school, when discipline problems increase, when the dropout rate goes up, when good students transfer out of the school district--then the school board will come up with another “new†idea.
Go back to the way things were before! There. That should save at least three or four years.
