Animal Shelter Could Use a Few Good Humans
Want to snuggle lonely dogs and cats waiting to be adopted this holiday season?
The San Clemente Animal Shelter is always looking for volunteers to give some tender loving care and exercise to animals housed in cages there.
“We have walkers who exercise the dogs and play with them,” said Pat Dudley, volunteer coordinator. “Then we have our cat people who brush the kitty cats, take them out of the cages and give them lots of love.”
Dudley said the shelter also needs people to work in the office area answering telephones, licensing and handling pet adoptions.
Volunteers should be at least 18 years old. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday; noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The next orientation will be at 9 a.m. Jan. 10 at 535 Avenida Fabricante.
