Dole Declares Dividend, Elevates Tate to VP, CFO
Dole Food Co. in Westlake Village has declared its regular quarterly dividend of 10 cents per share.
The dividend is payable Dec. 11 to shareholders of record on Nov. 20.
The company also announced the promotion of John Tate to vice president and chief financial officer. He has been chief financial officer of Dole Europe, the division responsible for $1 billion of the company’s 1996 revenue.
Tate joined Dole in 1993 as vice president of finance and administration for Dole Fresh Vegetables, the company’s North American division responsible for such successes as Dole fresh-cut salads. Before Tate’s tenure with Dole, he was a vice president and general manager of Ryder System Inc. and director of financial planning and analysis for the beverages division of Sara Lee Corp.
Dole, which had 1996 revenue of $3.8 billion, is the world’s largest producer and marketer of fresh fruit and vegetables and markets a growing line of packaged foods.
