Body of Possible Homicide Victim Found by Freeway
ANAHEIM — The body of an unidentified man presumed to be a homicide victim was discovered Friday morning in a drainage ditch along the Santa Ana Freeway, police said.
A pedestrian saw the body at 7:20 a.m. near the spot where Gilbert Street dead-ends into the freeway and reported it to a nearby Caltrans construction worker, Lt. Joe Reiss said.
The crime scene investigation backed up traffic for several hours, and detectives were working into the evening to identify the man. He appeared to be in his 30s and had suffered injuries suggesting he was a homicide victim. Reiss declined to be more specific until an autopsy is completed.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Anaheim police investigators at (714) 254-1967.
