A 42-year-old man who apparently did not hear a Metrolink train approaching behind him was struck and killed Tuesday, according to authorities.
The man’s identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives, said Sgt. Charles Swanson of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
The accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. in the 15300 block of San Fernando Road in a nonresidential area next to San Fernando Juvenile Hall, said Bob Collis, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
