With hotels running close to full capacity, Seattle is adding more rooms.
On Friday, the $29-million Hotel Monaco Seattle is to open downtown. Its lobby displays a leaping-dolphin fresco modeled on one at the ancient Cnossus Palace in Crete. Rates for its 189 rooms start at $242, including taxes, double occupancy. Reservations: (800) 945-2240. Earlier this month, Four Sisters Inns, which runs eight California inns, opened the 20-room Inn at Harbor Steps on the first two floors of a new downtown condominium development. Rooms start at $162.90, including taxes. Reservations: (800) 234-1425. Also offering 20 rooms is the Wall Street Inn B&B;, remodeled from former bachelors’ apartments for unionized sailors, at 2507 1st Ave. in the Belltown area. Double-occupancy rooms begin at $108.60, including taxes. Reservations: (206) 448-0125.
