There are four divisions: large prints (8 by 10 inches mounted on 11-by-14-inch mat board); small prints (5 by 7 inches or smaller); slides; and an open category. Prizes are $100 gift certificates in the large print and slide divisions and $25 cash in the other two divisions. Sea Fare--Youngsters can combine days at the beach with a learning experience during the one-week “Sea Adventure Camps” offered by Orange Coast College’s community education office and coordinated by the Orange County Marine Institute. The camp for children 7 to 9 years old includes tide pool explorations, two beach days and two afternoon voyages aboard the Marine Institute’s floating laboratory, R/V Sea Explorer. An advanced camp, for 10- to 13-year-olds, provides three days at the beach learning safety, snorkeling and body-boarding, a trip to Sea World in San Diego to study sharks and whales, a two-hour voyage, lab activities and tide pool explorations. Both camps run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 28 to Aug. 1 and cost $195. Information: (714) 432-5880.
