DANA POINT — A San Clemente man was struck and killed when he attempted to cross Pacific Coast Highway at an intersection without a stoplight, said Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. William Francis.
Joseph Kent Webb, 60, was hit by one car and run over by a second car Friday night when he crossed at Doheny Park Road and Pacific Coast Highway.
Francis said neither driver was cited in the accident, since they were not speeding and could not see the man when he stepped out onto a curving section of the highway.
Webb was also wearing dark clothing, making it harder for the drivers to see him, police said.
