Though many veteran acts seem to be going down the charts with alarming speed these days, a healthy number of newer acts are enjoying lengthy stays on the Top 200 sales list. Leading the way are the Wallflowers’ “Bringing Down the Horse” and Jewel’s “Pieces of You,” which are No. 9 and No. 10 respectively after more than a year each on the chart. . . . Other newer acts who have been on the charts for more than 40 weeks include LeAnn Rimes, Sublime, No Doubt, Deana Carter and Fiona Apple.
